Sprouts!
I've been daydreaming about growing a variety of sprouts and wheatgrass inside my house so I was up until 1am the other night researching how to grow them. I think I have the sprouts part down but still need to figure out the best way to grow wheatgrass. I'm using a large mason jar with a stainless steel screen for a top that I picked up at Whole Foods for sprouting. I have a bag of organic alfalfa seeds I bought last year and the quality is pretty poor because there are a bunch of seeds that didn't sprout. I read it's important to use quality seeds and I believe it. I'm still shopping around online for seeds. I really want to grow some mung bean sprouts because we are all addicted to this vinegared sprouts recipe. I let Boo assemble it with me and she can't wait for it to be done so she can dive in. The recipe says to boil the sprouts but I just use them raw. If you make it like I do, just toss the sprouts in the sauce and let it sit for about 15 minutes and they'll wilt down as if they were cooked. I don't cook them to preserve all the enzymes. I'm on month 2 of eating raw and love it. Here's what I made the other night for dinner. You'll find the recipe for the rolls here.

THAT, Looks super yummy.:)
Do you have any book recommendations for raw food recipes?
Megan - I have Ani's Raw Food Kitchen and Rawvolution. Ani has a lot of easier recipes w/ minimal ingredients. Her marinara sauce is delish and she has lots of tasty dressings. Haven't made too much out of it yet. Made onion bread, falafel, hummus, and mango chutney out of Rawvolution and happy w/ those recipes. Seems Rawvolution recipes require a dehydrator and you have to cut back on the salt and oil in his recipes. For example for his onion bread, instead of 1/2 cup soy sauce, I used 1/8 and it was perfect. The falafels came out amazing but because you have to sprout the garbanzo beans then you have to dehydrate for 36 hours, you have to do a lot of planning. I started the process on Tues and on Fri had the falafel for dinner. Check out those two books and see what you think. I'm happy w/ those 2 purchases.
Kaori! Those fresh nori rolls and sprouts look soooooo good to me. I have limited access to ingredients here in Mexico, and I've been craving fresh raw sprouts. Instead, I've been eating sliced raw jicama which tastes surprisingly similar. Jicama slices with guacamole is amazing.
Love that your recipes and crafts are all on the same blog again!

wheat grass is so easy to grow, just sprinkle the seeds (wheat berries) on the dirt, water, then cover with plastic wrap.
